Top 5 Books I Want to Re-read

It has been a very very long time since I’ve done a T5W so I thought I would today when I saw this week’s topic. Let’s talk about the books we want to reread! We all know we want to go back to some of our favorites. Now is the perfect time to showcase them!

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam, Thoughts on Tomes on booktube (former Gingerreadslainey). Please join the goodreads group for future topics!

Now without further ado…

These are just a few books that I really want to reread. Daughter of Smoke & Bone is so underrated and it’s magic is fantastic. I remember falling in love with this book from page one. As for the others, well…they reside in me and I desperately want to go back into those worlds. I have been wanting to reread November 9 since November 9th. I regret that I wasn’t able to. Maybe now that I just finished My Lady Jane I can???

What are some books you want to reread?
Have you read any of these?

thanks for reading!

until next time xxoo

Books with Hard Topics | Top 5 Wednesday

Hi hi! I am actually here today to give you a T5W! Top 5 Wednesday was created by Gingerreadslainey on booktube and is now hosted by Thoughts on Tomes on booktube. You can join the Goodreads group for any and all future topics here. I haven’t done one in forever so I thought today I would tackle the topic.

So without further ado…

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

mebeforeyouThis book has some very hard topics woven into the story. It not only deals with depression, but the topic of euthanasia or assisted suicide. I see many people give this book a lot of hate because of the topics or how it was dealt with because one of the characters is handicapped, but I think it was handled perfectly. This book broke my heart and made me rethink many things and I am so glad I read it.

I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

I absolutely loved this book! This book follows a girl named Skylar who begins working at a small motel in her “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” town where she is thrown together with Josh who just returned home after serving in the Marines and is an amputee. Josh suffers from PTSD and my heart breaks for him. Every time he had nightmares of his time in service and his pain of phantom limb. This is a special book and I love Heather Demetrios for writing it. I have never read a book like this before I picked this book up and thought it was so important to show this side of PTSD.

Another thing that I really enjoyed about this book was that Skyler was straightedge. I don’t see many MCs in YA that are straightedge either. Some characters won’t drink or do drugs but they don’t label themselves straightedge and I thought that was kind of cool 🙂

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

maybesomedayThis is one of my favorite Colleen Hoover books. It was one of the first CoHo books I ever read and I fell in love with it. I know many probably don’t like this book because of the subject matter but I loved it. This book deals with infidelity and I honestly think it was dealt with in such a way that I couldn’t hate the characters. Ridge, our male swoon-worthy MC, is deaf. So we not only deal with infidelity but also the subject of one of our MCs having a “disability”.

Plus, all the music and lyrics within this  novel just leaves a special imprint on my heart. ❤ ❤ ❤

Hopeless & Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover

hopeless I don’t really want to say what this book deals with because it would technically be a spoiler, but I will say it’s tough. If you’ve read it…you know. And in Losing Hope, we see another hard topic: suicide. In the first book, Hopeless we learn our male MC Dean Holder’s sister, Les, has committed suicide. In Losing Hope, we see the affect of her suicide has left on her family and how hard it hit Dean.

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

awalktoremember Cancer. Two teens who are from separate circles fall in love and then that love goes through one of the toughest obstacles. The girl has cancer. I read this so long ago and it was one of the first books to ever break my heart.

Well there you have it. Just some of my choices, I am sure there are more, but I couldn’t think of anymore. I know TFiOS probably should have been on this list but I assumed everyone else would use it so I put A Walk to Remember instead 😀

Anyway, what are some of your favorite books with “hard” topics?

T5W: Fictional Items I Want

Hello! Here I am again finally doing a T5W! I really liked this topic so I couldn’t pass it up.

Top 5 Wednesday is a group/meme created by Gingerreadslainey from booktube. You can check the Goodreads group for future topics.

This week’s topic is fictional items that you want. So since I want pretty much everything from every book I read, this may be hard to narrow down! But let’s get to it!

5. Witchlight – The Shadowhunters Chronicles

This scene is one of my favorites where Jace gives Clary her first Witchlight and I just want one too! They are so much cooler than a flashlight!

4. Pensieve -Harry Potter

Some of my favorite parts to read were the memories through the Pensieve. I just think having a way revisit memories this vividly is exciting. We can’t always remember memories as well as they happen and you can preserve them to relive.

3. Morozova’s Stag amplifier – Grisha

The minute we learned about the amplifiers and Alina’s Morozova’s stag I wanted it for myself! The amplifiers are a cool concept for our Grisha. Where’s mine? And where’s my kefta too?

2. Stele – The Shadowhunters Chronicles

I just really want to be a Shadowhunter, okay? 😥

1. Wand – Harry Potter

harryswand.gifAnd A WIZARD! 😥

Well that’s a wrap. I really tried not to make my whole list all Harry Potter or Shadowhunters because I totally could have. I want so much from both of those series because they are both my favorite.

What fictional item do you really want?

Until next time,

4. Anna and the French Kiss

This was the first contemporary book I’ve ever read and I am completely in love with it! It’s forever my favorite! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

3. daughter of smoke & bone

Say hello to one of my favorite fantasy series! The world building was so fantastic and the writing is mesmerizing. Each and every character has left an imprint on my heart.

2. Harry Potter

I was late to the party with this series but hey, it’s never too late for Harry Potter right? Classic.

1. Outlander

Anyone surprised this is my #1? Good, you shouldn’t 😝

I cannot get enough of Jamie and Claire! 😍😍💜💜💖

Top 5 Biggest Badass Characters | T5W

Hello again! Completely forgot to do a Top 5 Wednesday. I haven’t done one since November, I believe? Well when I saw this week’s topic, I couldn’t resist! So here I am with another blog post today. 😀

Top 5 Wednesday is hosted by Gingerreadslainey from Booktube and you can check future topics in the Goodreads group here.

This week’s topic is badass characters! One of my favorite topics because I am constantly falling in love with amazing characters! ❤ And because I am all about girl power, I am sticking to female characters. 😛

So awaaaayyy we gooooo…

5. Adelina Amouteru (The Young Elites)

I absolutely love Adelina! She is so dark and twisted that you can’t help but just root for her and love her. She has such dark, mad thoughts and it’s creepy, but amazing!

4. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

I will always include Hermione because she is such a smart cookie and so strong and fierce.

3. Linh Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles)

Cinder is definitely my favorite of from The Lunar Chronicles. Her journey is so touching and fantastic.

2. Claire Fraser (Outlander)

Claire is the definition of sass. Lass with sass! She is one of my most favorite, loved characters. She doesn’t take any crap from anyone and is constantly fighting for what she believes is right, even if it causes some trouble. But ultimately, she is one of the best characters I’ve read.

1. Aelin Ashryver Galanthynius  (Throne of Glass)

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

I could go into all the details why I love her, but I don’t feel like sounding like a broken record ^^’ but you know why…

Well there you have it! Does your list share some of these ladies? I could definitely have listed more because YA is filled so many wonderful ladies.

Okay. Last one today…thanks for reading! XXOO
