November’s Very Thankful Wrap Up

Okay, I am already rolling my eyes because I forgot to take a photo of a few books that I read this month, but because I edited my photo already…just pretend they are included okay? Okay. Moving on…

So! This month was a small, slow reading month because as most of you know I was in a pretty annoying reading slump. But never fear! I still got some progress in and I am proud of myself for doing at least that 🙂

So without further ado, BEHOLD MY NOVEMBER BOOKS:

I’ve already read 7 books. Well, 8 if you count my reread of November 9 since I’ve read it twice.
Most books aren’t pictured above because I checked them out from library or is an eBook. Also I forgot to add one.

Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass | 4 Stars

This was an entertaining read if you enjoyed The Selection series. I only had one problem with it, I hated The Queen novella. This novella had so much hype surrounded around it because Queen Amberly was so loved and I was looking forward to reading about her Selection. However, I hated it. I didn’t like her voice and it just showcased Clarkson in the worst light. We all know he sucks and is an awful father/ruler and seeing the way he treated the girls and why he chose Amberly just confirms what a douchebag he actually is. Bleh.

The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski | 5 Stars [[REVIEW HERE]]

We all know I loved this book 😀

Right Where You Are by L.E. Bross | 3 Stars [[REVIEW HERE]]

I didn’t care for this book as much as I’ve seen others. I just couldn’t connect to the story and it fell flat in my opinion.

Winter by Marissa Meyer | 5 Stars

OH STARS! This book was fantastic! Though I had some problems with the way it ended, I thought it was still a good finale. I only wish I had gotten more. I didn’t write a review of this because I never wrote reviews for the other books in the series, but who knows. Maybe I will?

November 9 by Colleen Hoover | ALL THE STARS but let’s go with 5 Stars [[REVIEW HERE]]

Considering I’ve already read this book twice and I recommend it to everyone, I’d say this is my new favorite NA book.

Mockingjacy by Suzanne Collins (reread) | 5 Stars

Reread this for the movie.  😀

Fairest by Marissa Meyer | 3 Stars

I didn’t really find this to add anything new to the series besides just showing just what kind of nut job Levana really was. But I had fun reading it still. Especially seeing just how twisted Channary was as well. Speaking of, I listened to the audiobook and it totally made me realize I’ve been saying Channary wrong this entire time! Ugh

Top 5 Books I’m Thankful For

So I think I am just going to end up doing two posts on Wednesdays because I like WWW to update what I have been reading and the Top 5 because it’s fun and well..why not?

T5W is a weekly meme created by Gingerreadslainey from YouTube. You can joined the Goodreads group and check out future topics here.

I know yesterday I did the top 10 authors I am thankful for so today’s T5W works out great because now it’s books!

So, I’ll get started and will probably have a hard time choosing just five.

As always, in no particular order…

1. The Hunger Games

Anyone surprised this made the list? I didn’t think so.

2. Percy Jackson & The Olympians

I have to include these because they were just fantastic. I loved the humor,  adventure, Greek mythology, and characters. I had a ball reading these books.

3.  The Wrath and The Dawn

This is such a great retelling and I love the world and romance. I have never read A Thousand and One Nights but this makes me want to!

4. The Young Elites

God bless, Marie for writing an antihero fantasy novel ❤

5. Throne of Glass

I am sorry. I feel like my blog has become the Throne of Glass/SJM promotion page or something and you guys are tired of me talking about it but, can you blame me?! It’s fantastic.

Also, I tried to think of other genres to include such as Adult Fiction, Sci-Fi but none of them make me as happy as these books. So sorry!

Anyway, there you have it! All my fantasy reads that hold a special place in my heart ❤

What are your top 5 books?

Book Tag | Soundtrack to My Life

FullSizeRender (10)

Hiiii! 🙂 Today I was tagged to do the Soundtrack to my Life book tag! Thank you so much Perfection in Books for tagging me!

Opening Credits: Favorite Childhood book

My mom used to read this to me and this is just “our book” so it holds a very special place in my heart ❤ Love you, Momma!

Waking up: A book that got you out of a reading slump.

I am going with Winter because if you follow my ramblings you know that I was in a slump recently and just could not read anything. I picked this up and it kicked my slump’s butt so hard! IT WAS FANTASTIC!

School: A book you had to read for school that you ended up loving.

I actually really loved this book while reading it in high school. I actually read ahead of our schedule and finished it before our class. I haven’t read it again since and don’t know how I’d feel about it now, but while in HS I really enjoyed it.

Falling In Love: An author you love so much you want to read all of their books.

Sarah J Maas. Leigh Bardugo. Colleen Hoover. Cassandra Clare. Marie Lu ❤ just to name a few hehe

Fight: Book with the best action sequences.

Break up: A book or series you didn’t finish and do not intend to finish.

I only read the first book and it just was average. I don’t really care to finish?

Hanging With Friends: Book you think everyone else should read.

SIX OF CROWS! Can I rave about this book enough?

Breakdown: Book that seriously affected you/had you crying your eyes out.

This hurt my soul a little bit and I still feel a pang whenever I think about it. But it was so good!

Roadtrip: You favorite series (more than 3 books).

THRONE OF GLASS FOREVER AND ALWAYS! I chose the UK editions for this because all the photos I found didn’t include QoS

But I’d also choose The Lunar Chronicles, The Mortal Instruments, Vampire Academy. Can I include Outlander even though I’ve only read the first book? I’m doing it. OUTLANDER!

Getting Back together: what book can you not stop rereading.

THG is my favorite trilogy of all time and I’ve read them half a dozen times each. No regrets.

Wedding: A book that is really special to you.

Sorry I am choosing this again because this is really want made me get into Dystopia and just god, I love it so much. Before I read this I was reading Paranormal and cheesy books like Twilight. Once I picked up THG I started to explore more YA genres and I never looked back.

Moment of Triumph: Longest book you’ve ever read

I FEEL SO ACCOMPLISHED FOR THIS! OMG It was so long and I did it!!

Death Scene: Book or series you wish had ended differently.

I won’t say anything for anyone who hasn’t finished this series, but I just had higher expectations. I didn’t want the “and they lived happily ever after” aspect. ugh and my ship DID NOT SAIL!

Funeral: Book with the best or worst epilogue.

That is all.

End Credits: Who do you tag?

You, You, and You!

But I also tag:

Calliope the Book Goddess

Cassidy @ The Little Book Cottage

Giselle @ Hardwork Boulevard

Jessica @ Mud and Stars

Raven @ Dreamy Addictions

Veda @ Bookzillan Society

There you have it! As always, if you’ve already done it please ignore. And if you would like to, YOU’RE TAGGED! ❤

Happy reading! xoxo

Top 5 Hunger Games Moments

Okay. So I know I already did my WWW Wednesday but since I kept seeing this  float around I thought I would join since the Mockingjay Part 2 releases tomorrow (tomorrow for me since I am going to the premiere screening)

Top 5 Wednesday was created by GingerreadsLainey on booktube and you can check out her Goodreads group for future Wednesday topics here.

Here I go!

5. Fire is catching. And if we burn, you burn with us!

This was such an epic scene in the book and the movie! Katniss is the Mockingjay and it really sets the tone of the revolution. Now, Katniss means business! We are coming for you Snow!!

4. You have to win

Oh god this is already making me tear up 😥
Rue’s death is so heartbreaking! The way Katniss reacts to her death! I think her promise to win the games held more power over Katniss and really drove her forward.

3. I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.

The whole beach scene!

2. I’m still betting on you, girl on fire.

I AM A PUDDLE OF TEARS! Cinna was my absolute favorite and I cried like a little baby during this scene. Cinna’s friendship and faith in Katniss was too beautiful for words. *sigh*

  1. This epicness

Bonus scenes:

If it were up to me, I’d just list the entire series but these were some of the best scenes for me that really showed what the series was made of. Now if you excuse me, I am going to go watch all the movies and cry to myself because my favorite series of all time is ending and I am not ready for this!! 😥
