Top 5 Villains I Love to Hate

Hello, I missed this week’s Top 5 Wednesday, but I really liked the topic so…better late than never. 🙂

5. Negan | the Walking Dead

I am sure many will be shocked by this because of what happened to one of our beloved characters (he’s my favorite too. I cried :’) ) but Negan is the craziest characters I’ve read about. He is evil. Pure crazy, but he also cracks me up! Especially in the comics!

4. Holland & the cray cray twins | A Darker Shade of Magic

I really liked Holland in ADSOM. I don’t really think of him as a true “villain” but I have to include him because I was really interested in his story. I can’t wait to read more about him.

3. The Jackal | Red Rising

This crazy is a psychopath. One of my favorite characters from the Red Rising trilogy because of how twisted he is.

2. The Darkling | The Grisha Trilogy

The Darkling has one of the best villain storylines. By the end of the trilogy I was bawling my eyes for him. His tragic past just got to me. Especially when we learn his real name. Ugh 😥

I hate him, but I also love him a little too. Such complexity!

1. Captain Jonathon “Black Jack” Randall | Outlander

There is no one i hate more than this a$$hole. Oh my gosh he is the literal worst! He makes me sick to my stomach. He’s a sadist psychopath. I am still not over his last scene from Outlander. I couldn’t even read it because I was physically sick.

I don’t know if I really “love” to hate him, but I loathe this man. So he’s included

Well there you have it! Some of my favorite villains. Who makes your list of favorite villains?

until next time xxoo

Gilmore Girls has been one of my favorite shows since it started airing way back when. I feel like I grew with Rory and Lorelai. I don’t even know how many times I have watched this whole show. At least 6 or 7 times. I literally cannot wait until Netflix releases the new episodes. I think I cried a few times when I see new set photos! I AM SO EXCITED!

I mean…obviously. You guys already know my obsession with Outlander ❤

I love all the DC shows on the CW, but Arrow especially. Arrow and Oliver Queen are bae

I wasn’t a fan of the last season too much, but I can’t wait for new episodes.

Waiting for the new season has become unbearable. Even though I don’t want to know who Negan got (because comics) I am dreading it and excited all at the same time!

I really don’t know how I am going to like the next season because two of our original BAU members left 😥 my heart is so heavy but I am such a sucker for Reid. Who isn’t though right?

I visted the Outlander Artistry Exhibit!

Hi guys! Today I thought I would share my experience visiting Outlander Artistry at the Paley Center in Hollywood! If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram have you probably already seen these photos but I thought it would be cool to share here too since I have so many photos!

So last week was the last day that this exhibit would be running the Outlander exhibit and I just knew I had to see it before it left! I am so glad we decided to go because this was one the best days I have had all summer. Seeing all the amazing costumes that were designed and made all for the TV show was amazing! I can’t believe how many costumes and shoes, hats, gloves, everything is handmade for the show! It’s truly amazing.

Anyway, everything looked so beautiful and you can take a look at some of my photos below.

Enjoy ❤

This was one out of two that we saw for my precious Jamie ❤

They also had some set designs and set models set up to take a look at, but I am too short and couldn’t really take any decent photos of them! 😦 But! I hope you enjoyed the photos! They’re all so beautiful! Now I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us for season 3!

July’s Hot Hot Hot Wrap Up

Hello hello! I know this is coming a little late this month (okay a lot late), but I haven’t had the energy to turn on my computer when it’s been so hot. You guys, I hate the summer. I am miserable! My wrap up isn’t even that long because I find it hard to read. I was also hoping to do a post on my birthday book haul since it was my birthday month (the 16th was my birthday) but I just haven’t gotten around to it. But it’s coming! I hope.

Okay, enough excuses. I have made some progress and have read some amazing books last month ❤

Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon | 4 stars

So I had a few issues and frustrations about this book. The whole plot could have been resolved if characters would have just had one conversation, but no. Everything dragged on and I am a little disappointed. However, I still enjoyed myself.

My review here

I’ll Give you the sun by Jandy Nelson | 4 stars

This book was so unexpected. I didn’t really think I was going to like just because it’s so hyped. But honestly, I fell in love. I really enjoyed that it took place over two timelines, the past and the present. The story was heartbreaking and touching at the same time. I’m so relieved I fell in love with the story the same way everyone else did.

Hamilton: the revolution by Lin Manuel Miranda | 5 stars

I love love love this book. If you’re a Hamilton fan, you need this book!

The Star-touched Queen by Renee Chokshi | 3.5 stars

I really enjoyed this book, but the more I think about it the more bummed I am that it is only a standalone. I thought the story only skimmed the surface and I was expecting more once it ended. But then I read that that’s it?! Saaaaaaaad.

A GAthering of Shadows by VE Schwab *rr | 4 stars

I reread this book on audio and it was fantastic. I totally recommend it!

Bared to you by Sylvia Day | 3 stars

So this is totally a guilty pleasure read. I wanted something quick and don’t judge me okay? But I really enjoyed it. I refused to read the Fifty Shades books, but since I heard these were way better and well-written I gave them a try. Shh. it’s okay.

Reflected in you by Sylvia Day | 3 stars

This was good too. Finally take a look into Gideon’s past and his demons. I really don’t have much to say about these books other than it is a fun read.

Did I mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame | 4 stars

God I love this trilogy so much. I have already finished the other books and I can’t stop thinking about them because they were so addicting and fun. I love Tyler and Eden and everyone! Their forbidden romance was just so addicting I couldn’t set the book down!

I recommend them if you haven’t read them yet and you’re looking for a summer read.

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs | DNF @ page 30

I just can’t with these books. I am sorry and I am bummed but I can’t. They are just not for me.

Well that is it! Wow I read way more than I thought I did! July was fun and August is already looking pretty good. Hopefully I can read some more amazing books!

until next time,

Drums of Autumn (Outlander #4) by Diana Gabaldon

It began at an ancient Scottish stone circle. There, a doorway, open to a select few, leads into the past—or the grave. Dr. Claire Randall survived the extraordinary passage, not once but twice.

Her first trip swept her into the arms of Jamie Fraser, an eighteenth-century Scot whose love for her became a legend—a tale of tragic passion that ended with her return to the present to bear his child. Her second journey, two decades later, brought them together again in the American colonies. But Claire had left someone behind in the twentieth century—their daughter, Brianna….

Now Brianna has made a disturbing discovery that sends her to the circle of stones and a terrifying leap into the unknown. In search of her mother and the father she has never met, she is risking her own future to try to change history … and to save their lives. But as Brianna plunges into an uncharted wilderness, a heartbreaking encounter may strand her forever in the past … or root her in the place she should be, where her heart and soul belong….

*Slight spoilers in you haven’t read at least Voyager

Drums of Autumn takes place after the events of Voyager, where we find Brianna missing her mother and trying to find traces of Claire and Jamie. She enlists the help of Roger and when a surprising new discovery leaves them both running to the stones of Craigh na Dun many surprises unravel that I did not expect. It was a slow ride at times, but still very entertaining if you enjoyed the other books in the series like I have.

While I really enjoyed this installment in the Outlander series, I had a few problems with it. I didn’t really get wrapped into the story until about 300+ pages in. I felt like the slow build up was a little too slow and dull. I know this is the way Diana tells her stories, but usually there is a slow burn leading up to the intense climax. However with DoA, the slow burn led up to quite an underwhelming misunderstanding. A misunderstanding that could have led the last quarter of the book’s conflict resolved if one conversation would have taken place. To say it’s frustrating is a little of an understatement.

Another issue I had with DoA was Claire and Brianna. There is no doubt these two are mother and daughter because they are exactly alike. While Brianna takes after Jamie in her Scot Fraser stubbornness, she takes over Claire with her rashness. She is independent and often forgets the time period that she just stepped into. Plus, I wanted to strangle her for the way she talked to her father. Excuse you Bree, you’re being incredibly disrespectful what gives you the right?! While Claire is oftentimes too over dramatic in this novel. She overreacts over situations that she could have easily just rectified.

While I had a few issues. I still really loved this novel once everything really started to pick up. I loved seeing the relationship between Jamie and Bree (their first meeting seriously brought tears to my eyes) as well as the growing relationship with Roger. I seriously fell in love with Roger in this novel. He was so sweet and understanding and perfect for Bree. He understands her and knows just how to handle her.

I really enjoyed the life that Jamie and Claire are building on Fraser’s Ridge. They are finally settling into a life that they deserve (but still has some conflict because it’s Jamie and Claire). Though I do have to admit I miss being in Lallybroch and around Jenny and Ian and all the other Frasers.

Overall,  I really enjoyed reading this book. It was slow but still great. I loved Jamie even more than before. He is protective and an excellent father. It’s so bittersweet to see him finally be the father he deserved to be. I love Jamie and Claire together, always. Bree and Roger. Wee Ian and Rollo. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for our beloved Frasers.

If you love Outlander, have you been watching season 2? Are you ready for the finale??? let’s fangirl and cry together.
