Top 5 Books I Want to Re-read

It has been a very very long time since I’ve done a T5W so I thought I would today when I saw this week’s topic. Let’s talk about the books we want to reread! We all know we want to go back to some of our favorites. Now is the perfect time to showcase them!

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam, Thoughts on Tomes on booktube (former Gingerreadslainey). Please join the goodreads group for future topics!

Now without further ado…

These are just a few books that I really want to reread. Daughter of Smoke & Bone is so underrated and it’s magic is fantastic. I remember falling in love with this book from page one. As for the others, well…they reside in me and I desperately want to go back into those worlds. I have been wanting to reread November 9 since November 9th. I regret that I wasn’t able to. Maybe now that I just finished My Lady Jane I can???

What are some books you want to reread?
Have you read any of these?

thanks for reading!

until next time xxoo

T5W: Best Books of 2015

t5w best books

Hey all! How are you guys doing? I have finally got myself together to do another Top 5 Wednesday!

Top 5 Wednesday is group created by Gingerreadslainey from Booktube. You can join and follow the Goodreads group here for future topics.

This week’s topic is  top 5 books of the year. I bet some of you can already guess which will be on my list 😀

So without further ado…

I am still fangirling over this book whenever I think about it! My god it was just so perfect and wonderful! If you haven’t read this book yet (even though I don’t know why you haven’t it’s wonderful) please do. It’s FANTASTIC and honestly one of the best fantasy books I’ve read this year (obviously).

Given the fact that I read this book twice back to back, I think it’s safe to say it was my favorite of 2015. This book is all kinds of fabulous and Colleen knows exactly how to pull at your heartstrings and then crush you to pieces and I love her for it. ❤

THIS BOOK ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Shocker right? I feel like I use every opportunity to sneak in an Outlander mention in every post. Sorry not sorry. I love Outlander so much!!

This book really surprised me. I know it’s long and it intimidates me with its length but its honestly my new favorite series of all time and I can’t get enough.

Enough said. ❤ 😀

This book is fantastic and completely blew me away. I didn’t know what to expect going in with this book, but it’s safe to say that Renee Ahdieh is an author to watch. I love her lyrical storytelling. Plus Khalid is one of the most swoon-worthy guys I’ve read and he’s mine, okay? 🙂

Well that was hard. There are definitely more books I wish I could have mentioned but I really feel like these were my all time favorites this year.

What books would make your top 5?

Thanks for taking the time to read my posts. You guys are awesome!

Until next time,

November’s Very Thankful Wrap Up

Okay, I am already rolling my eyes because I forgot to take a photo of a few books that I read this month, but because I edited my photo already…just pretend they are included okay? Okay. Moving on…

So! This month was a small, slow reading month because as most of you know I was in a pretty annoying reading slump. But never fear! I still got some progress in and I am proud of myself for doing at least that 🙂

So without further ado, BEHOLD MY NOVEMBER BOOKS:

I’ve already read 7 books. Well, 8 if you count my reread of November 9 since I’ve read it twice.
Most books aren’t pictured above because I checked them out from library or is an eBook. Also I forgot to add one.

Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass | 4 Stars

This was an entertaining read if you enjoyed The Selection series. I only had one problem with it, I hated The Queen novella. This novella had so much hype surrounded around it because Queen Amberly was so loved and I was looking forward to reading about her Selection. However, I hated it. I didn’t like her voice and it just showcased Clarkson in the worst light. We all know he sucks and is an awful father/ruler and seeing the way he treated the girls and why he chose Amberly just confirms what a douchebag he actually is. Bleh.

The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski | 5 Stars [[REVIEW HERE]]

We all know I loved this book 😀

Right Where You Are by L.E. Bross | 3 Stars [[REVIEW HERE]]

I didn’t care for this book as much as I’ve seen others. I just couldn’t connect to the story and it fell flat in my opinion.

Winter by Marissa Meyer | 5 Stars

OH STARS! This book was fantastic! Though I had some problems with the way it ended, I thought it was still a good finale. I only wish I had gotten more. I didn’t write a review of this because I never wrote reviews for the other books in the series, but who knows. Maybe I will?

November 9 by Colleen Hoover | ALL THE STARS but let’s go with 5 Stars [[REVIEW HERE]]

Considering I’ve already read this book twice and I recommend it to everyone, I’d say this is my new favorite NA book.

Mockingjacy by Suzanne Collins (reread) | 5 Stars

Reread this for the movie.  😀

Fairest by Marissa Meyer | 3 Stars

I didn’t really find this to add anything new to the series besides just showing just what kind of nut job Levana really was. But I had fun reading it still. Especially seeing just how twisted Channary was as well. Speaking of, I listened to the audiobook and it totally made me realize I’ve been saying Channary wrong this entire time! Ugh

WWW Wednesday #11

Hello lovelies! How are all of you doing today? It’s Thanksgiving week! And this week I am thankful that I am finally reading again 😉

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Yes! I am finally continuing with my Outlander journey. However, I am going to be reading this slow because I don’t want to overwhelm myself.

What did you recently finish reading?

20875599  Winter-final

Okay. I am in a bit of a book hangover. I finished Winter (last book in The Lunar Chronicles) and I cried my eyes out because it was over and there wasn’t a next book to be waiting for. It was so fantastic and I loved every single second of it. Solid 5 stars. Then, because I needed to read something to pick me up to avoid a reading slump, I chose CoHo because she is always there to save me (and it’s no surprise since she is basically my favorite author). Lucky enough, her newest book just released the same week. However, now that has put me in a book hangover. Oh god. I can’t stress enough how much I loved this book. I have already read it twice! You can read my review right here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Ummm…I have no idea. I kind of want to read Order of the Phoenix or choose another contemporary? Or maybe…gah I don’t know. Let’s see where my mood takes me next week 😀

But in the meantime, ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

First of all, this review might not be so much as a “review” as it may just be my rambling and fangirling over the awesomeness that is Colleen Hoover. To this date, I have not been let down by this amazing woman. Majority of all her books have been read in one sitting because I JUST CAN’T PUT THEM DOWN and this was no exception. I had no intention of even sitting down and reading this book yet because I had just finished reading Winter by Marissa Meyer and wanted to give my mind a break. However, because I have been super excited for this book I just picked it up last night to read one chapter to see how it was. Well next thing you know it’s 4:00 AM and I am clutching my chest and crying and can’t go to sleep because my heart is hurting and CoHo did it again.  COHO IS QUEEN OKAY ❤

So let’s get into this book shall we?

“She “loved me” in quotations She kissed me in bold I TRIED TO KEEP HER in all caps She left with an ellipsis . . .”

The book follows Ben and Fallon, the most adorable couple! These two meet in a random diner when Ben pretends to be her fake boyfriend on November 9th and thus begin their whole arrangement. Every November 9th, they would meet and discuss the happenings throughout the year. However, they would not have any contact during the year except on that one day of the year. Being that Ben is an aspiring writer, he makes it his goal to write a book about their romance story and Fallon must follow her passion for acting and put herself out there more. I can’t stress enough how fantastic this book was. I loved reading their meetings on this one day that would have been akward being that they hardly knew each other, but they had such a fantastic connection and chemistry it was refreshing. You watch these two fall in love in a short amount of time over the span of 5 years and it was deep. I don’t know how CoHo does it, but she writes the best love stories I have ever read and each one shine its own light.

“Whether or not the couple ends up together at the end of a book doesn’t determine whether that book has a happy ending or not. As long as the two people end up happy, it doesn’t really matter if they end up happy together.”

Fallon was so dang relatable and I loved her for it. She is insecure. She is flawed and she learns and grows throughout the entire novel. She makes mistakes and she owns up to them. I admit, I was a little put off by how much she was insecure when Ben has done nothing but show her how beautiful she is despite her scars, but hey I would be the same way. It takes time. And it definitely took Fallon some time. She had a great sense of humor and a quick tongue that is expected from CoHo that had me LOLing all over the place.

Ben on the other hand. Oh Ben, you precious cupcake.

I am so in love with Benton James Kessler. He has just possessed a top on my top 5 Book Boyfriends, right along with Miles Archer and Dean Holder. Sorry guys, but Ben is giving you guys a run for your money.  Ben is such a sweetie pie! He is loyal, and passionate, and funny, and dorky in the most sexy sort of way! I loved how he made it his mission to show Fallon that she was beautiful and wanted her to be happy in her own skin. He was protective of her and was so alpha-male without even knowing he was doing it. I can go on and on about how much I love him. He goes through some terribly awful things in the book that you just want to give him a tight hug and never let go. Seriously, my heart was breaking for him. But he always followed his heart and that was makes him admirable.

“She’s not the kind of girl you choose your battles for. She’s the kind of girl you fight to the death for.”

“I think about you every second of every day and I don’t know how to get over you,” she says.

“Don’t,” I beg her. “Please don’t get over me.”

Honestly, this concept was such a delight. There was so mystery behind Ben and what his situation was that kept me so anxious to find out what he was hiding. I was literally so scared because being a CoHo book you just know something is going to go down! I loved how she involved Ben’s book that he was writing and that was how everything unraveled. Honestly, every time I thought I had it figured out I was still thrown for a loop. Plus, it was so awesome how much love was thrown towards book lovers and all our lingo. Ben was writing his own novel, how can that get more adorable?!

“If we’re going to kiss, it has to be book-worthy.”

Bonus: if you’ve read previous novels by Colleen, you will definitely appreciate a special cameo in this book. I was fangirling so hard I started jumping up and down when I read it. I was that excited! 😀

“When you find love, you take it. You grab it with both hands and you do everything in your power not to let it go. You can’t just walk away from it and expect it to linger until you’re ready for it.”

Edit: Okay I forgot to add this because I was too busy fangirling, but I thought I’d mention what I didn’t like about this book. I honestly hated the that fact Fallon completely shattered Ben’s heart. And she does it in a ridiculous way. After going back on her word and using the cliche “I’m doing it for your own good” is just completely frustrating. I was so angry! Then when she shows up the next year to meet him and to find out that things weren’t exactly the same between them is insane. How could he be the same after how badly you broke  his heart? I understand she didn’t want to fall in love until she was 23 because of some insane theory that her mother had, but that doesn’t mean that you need to cut off all contact with him. She could have been talking to him and just getting to know him more than just seeing him one day a year. But I guess that’s just the premise of the book. It bothered me because it made me want to shake Fallon over her actions where Ben is concerned, but not enough to make me not enjoy the novel. Because I still did, clearly.

Overall, this book was great. Colleen is great. She has never let me down and I will continue to read literally everything she writes. Beautiful story, beautiful characters, beautiful writing as always. Do yourself a favor and pick this up. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Can I give all the stars? Oh well it’s my blog. ALL THE STARS! 😀
