August’s Scorching Wrap Up

augustwrap

I seriously cannot believe it’s already August! I feel like I just wrote my wrap up for July!Well I guess technically I did because I was really late on my post 😉

Anyway, how was your month? I had a very  fun month because my wonderful boyfriend took me to see the Outlander exhibit, and then we did some exploring in Big Bear to catch some new Pokémon! I took a break from reading because I wanted to binge some new shows and just take a break. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover really messed me up mentally because it was so heavy and I just felt so drained. So even though I have been reading a bunch of fluffy books, I decided to take a nice little break. I binged Orphan Black and Black Sails. Wow I had a nice little “black” theme going on.

Okay, enough of my babbling. Let’s get down to the books I read!

So like I said…I am in a contemporary mood. So much so that I read a few wattpad stories. I am in the middle of the sequel to Living with the Walker Boys just because I am such a sucker for big families (maybe it’s the only child in me that gets drawn to them).

Did I Mention I Need You? by Estelle Maskame | 4.5 stars

Oh my goodness. These books are so addicting and I couldn’t stop reading them! I loved this sequel so much more than the first one just because I got so much more! So much intensity and betrayal and love. *fans self* Plus the ending?! OH MY GOD NOT FAIR!

Did I Mention I Miss You? by Estelle Maskame | 4.5 stars

I am so sad this was the last book! I already miss all my beloved babies! I was very happy with the ending and I already am planning another read of these books because they were so entertaining and addictive. This book showed so much more growth that it brought tears to my eyes. It was fluff and made me so happy! ❤ I MISS TYLER!

So this was a completely random buy. Bookbub suggested this book to me because it was on sale && free. The synops sounded interesting so I got it and read it. Let me tell you, I was hooked. I couldn’t stop reading it. I think I read the whole thing in less than two days because I was just so eager to find out the ending. I wish it had a little bit more resolution for our conflict because it seemed like everything happened behind the scenes. However, it was so cute for the MC and her yummy love interest. I really enjoy second change romances and this one really entertained me. I fell in love with the couple, their sad story, their reunion, and their connection.

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover | 5 stars

I am not even going to talk about this. I can’t. I am still in mourning so…I’ll leave this:

My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak rr* | 3 stars

Funny thing. I reread this book and ended up dropping my rating 1.5 stars. I just didn’t connect to it as much as I did the first time. Oh well

Living with the Walker Boys | 3 stars

This was on wattpad. I actually think I liked the characters in this story more than in Walter boys because they were more likable. The titles are so similar that of course I was going to inevitably compare them even though I tried not to. The boys were just so much more welcoming and nicer when our girl moved in with them. In the Walter boys, they were mean and gave her a hard time. But this still had a lot of flaws. One being: IT WAS WAY TOO LONG.

PS I Like You by Kasie West | 4 stars

QUEEN OF CONTEMPORARY FLUFF! This book was so so so cute! Even though you can predict who the secret pen pal was right from the beginning it was still adorable. I loved every minute of it! Kasie West has quickly become one of my favorite contemporary authors.

Game On by Michelle Smith | 4 stars eARC

I loved this book. I can’t stress that enough. Read my review for more!

When in Rome…Find Yourself by Lena Mae Hill | 3 stars

Review coming tomorrow!

Spoiler: it was okay.

The 100 by Kass Morgan | 3 stars

Totally forgot I listened to this on audiobook so I didn’t include it above. It was okay. Definitely prefer the tv show but I read this because I wanted Bellarke! 😛

What was your favorite book this month?
Did we read any of the same books in August?
Do you have anymore contemporary recommends?

Until next time,
